Svay Ken's recollection of a Khmer Rouge Hospital

Cambodian artist Svay Ken passed away yesterday after a period of prolonged illness, aged 76, leaving behind a legacy of highly personalized paintings, documenting scenes from everyday life as well as his often traumatizing past. He published a book, Painted Stories, in which he tells the story of his family from 1941 to the present time in paintings and narrative. Read more about Svay Ken here and here.
