Bare and uninviting

The dark and uninviting corridors of the Bokor Palace Hotel
The corridors are cold and dark and broken tiles and weeds litter the floor. The walls are bare and uninviting. Welcome to the Bokor Palace Hotel on the summit of Bokor mountain. Not somewhere to bring your loved one for a romantic weekend nowadays, but in its prime the Palace hotel was the playground of the rich and famous. Only the bare shell remains today as a reminder of that bygone era. And if you want to witness it for yourself, you'd better be quick as the area is under development as I type. These are the final photos of the hotel from this visit, I hope they won't be my last forever.
Former servant quarters in the basement of the Palace hotel
The imposing quality of the hotel is evident from all angles

The rear of the hotel looking out across the Gulf of Thailand
The southwest corner of the hotel complex
A view of the hotel's southern side, now under threat from encroaching vegetation

Andy, as always, thanks for taking nice pictures of Bokor while they last. I think your pictures will serve, perhaps, as a last reminder before the changes to this beautiful place. Then, one can see the before and after pictures that seem common place in cambodia. Thank you, I enjoyed it.
