Great friends & grub at The Rising Sun

Two of The Rising Sun's finest: Samnang and Thida, alongwith the author.
Whenever I'm in Phnom Penh, the bustling capital of Cambodia, I always, without fail, pop into The Rising Sun pub - located just around the corner from the popular FCC bar & restaurant on Street 178 - to meet my friends behind the bar and sample the delicious pub grub on offer. Its quality food at low prices and definitely worth a visit next time you're wandering along the riverfront area of PP. My personal fave is jacket potato with baked beans and cheese - takes me back to the green fields of Blighty as soon as I smell it being cooked. Samnang has worked behind the bar for a few years now, so we've become firm friends and she's usually on duty in the afternoons & evenings, alongside Thida, a newer recruit but just as friendly. Its a great little place and as I find all over Cambodia, its the people that make it so, though the food helps too.
